Journal entry - by Kade Stormbrook, 23rd June 1540.
It is the year of our Lord 1540. I accidentally happened across a new festival sprouting up on the big bend of the Kalamazoo River in a small town called Glenshire, on my travels west this day. The grounds are newly cleaned, and construction is not yet done, but it looks promising. The lads were working on it when I arrived, so I had a chance to talk with them a bit while they took a break with bread and mead. These folks are very excited for the festival, and they have some grand ideas, some bigger than I can imagine they'll accomplish, but we shall see. Whatever it may be, I am certain it will be a grand event. Their location is but the most picturesque of any location I have traveled to for a festival. There are not one or two, but several massive mother trees in these woods, ancient and old for sure. The view up and down the river makes me think I'll see a ship round the next bend. You can tell these grounds hold something special, the feeling of great joy and magick come from these woods. There is a painting op in every direction I look, and they have so much more to do yet. It has been quite some time since an event of this grandeur we held in our area. I hope to be back this way on my return home right around October of year next. I hope to see all their hard work pay off and a real gem for our county blossom. There is nothing quite like a gathering of like minds and like souls to make us forget the trifles and trials of our day-to-day existences. This event is sure to be the talk of alehouses far and wide for some time to come. Hazzah to the lords and ladies - may they be blessed with the wind at the back of their sails!!
